Placeholder for a custom editorial illustration representing software-development teaching, mentoring, reusable full-stack templates, containerized development, automated deployment, and QA.

Context

Academic & Technical Environment

Full-time instructional role at FEU Institute of Technology, combining technical teaching across multiple class sections with hands-on full-stack development, project template design, containerized environments, deployment automation, and software testing practices.

The focus of the role extended beyond traditional lecture delivery to owning the design and implementation of reusable instructional development templates and supporting deployment/testing workflows used to support students and instructors.

Scope

Instructional & Development Scope

Taught and mentored students across software-development subjects while also designing reusable project standards, building web-development templates, containerizing application environments, implementing automated deployment workflows, and validating applications through functional, API, and browser-based testing.

Secondary Scope: Teaching · Development · Deployment · QA

Technical Standards & Templates

Web Design 1 & 2 Standard Templates

Created standardized Web Design templates using a Sliced Architecture project structure to introduce students to clearer separation, organization, and maintainable frontend project conventions.

These templates functioned as both instructional reference material and reusable development standards. Students used the templates to study expected development standards, practice structured web development, build static websites, and deploy their work via Git and GitHub workflows.

Deployment Automation

GitHub Actions → GitHub Pages Deployment

Implemented automated deployment workflows for static projects through GitHub Actions targeting GitHub Pages.

Added GitHub Actions workflows that automatically deployed eligible static projects to GitHub Pages, giving students practical exposure to source-controlled deployment beyond basic local execution.

Development Environments

CodeIgniter 4 Standard Dockerized Environment

Built a standardized Dockerized CodeIgniter 4 project template with the application, database, and Redis services prepared as a reusable environment for students and instructors.

Introduced Docker-based development environments through reusable application templates, giving students a more consistent way to run application, database, and Redis services while reducing repeated environment setup. The project environment was structured so that it was prepared for server-based deployment environments such as AWS and DigitalOcean.

QA & Validation

Functional, API, & End-to-End Testing

Validated instructional and web-system implementations through manual functional testing, API testing with Postman, and browser-based testing with Playwright.

Testing practices were integrated into the development workflow to ensure feature accuracy, check expected API response contracts, verify UI/end-to-end browser flows, and maintain instructional material quality.
